Accessible Trails in Washington State for an Elopement

You don’t have to hike a steep mountain to get amazing backdrops for your elopement ceremony. These locations are easily accessible whether you are inviting your grandparents or young kids or you just don’t feel like lookin’ all sweaty on your wedding day!

Deception Pass

Roundtrip: 5 miles 

Elevation Gain: 310 feet

There are lots of places to park your car with a short walk to the beautiful viewpoints of deception pass. You can walk down the steps to get to the beach or you can take this trail where half mile in you will reach Rosario Beach.

Bagley Lakes

Roundtrip: 2 miles

Elevation Gain: 150 feet

Pass Required: Northwest Forest Pass

Located off the Heather Meadows Recreation Area at the Mt. Baker Ski Resort, this trail is suitable for people of all ages including little kids. It’s a great trail that can be accessed in the winter as well (snowshoes recommended)

Franklin Falls

Roundtrip: 2 miles

Elevation Gain: 400 feet

Handrails are present for the most of this hike making it accessible for young kids and older adults. This trail will lead you to the most beautiful falls and is accessible year around.

This chair is accessible for wheelchairs as well as strollers. This trail is great for every kind of hiker and loops around a beautiful pond. This location has grown increasingly popular over the years as a top elopement destination so plan accordingly!

Rainy Lake

Roundtrip: 2 miles

Elevation Gain: 70 feet

Pass Required: Northwest Forest Pass

Dogs Allowed

After a half mile, this trail branches and one direction leads you to steep mountain trails but if you continue straight it will lead you to the picture perfect and clear Rainy Lake!
